19.02.2019 • Eurasia International University College students visit to the Diplomatic School

On February 19 th , the Diplomatic School hosted a group of students of the Diplomatic and Legal Courses of the Eurasia International University College . In his welcoming remarks t he Director of the Diplomatic School , Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan appreciated their interest in diplomacy and legal affairs from such a young age and said that he is full of hope that the visit to the Diplomatic School will give answers to many questions and help them make a final decision on their future profession. In a lively question and answer session director Gabrielyan answered the student’s questions on the structure of the Diplomatic School and the process of admission, aspects of the diplomatic service in general and that of Armenia, as well as priorities of Armenian foreign policy and other related topics. 

23.10.2018 • The delegation of the European Movement of Denmark at the Diplomatic School

On October 23th, the Diplomatic School hosted the delegation from the European Movement of Denmark which visited Armenia in the framework of a study trip to Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine. After a short tour of the premises of the Diplomatic School, the delegates met with the Director of the Diplomatic School, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan who in his opening remarks stressed the importance of such an initiatives and visits for understanding the culture, mentality and politics of the respective states. Vahe Gabrielyan spoke about the structure and the main fields of activities of the Diplomatic School. During the subsequent discussion the Director answered questions concerning different aspects of the School’s activities and the structure of the Armenian diplomatic service.

27.09.2018 • Professor Nicholas Cull at the Diplomatic School

On September 27 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the founding director of the Master of Public Diplomacy program at the University of South Carolina, editor of the journal “Place Branding and Public Diplomacy ”, the President of the International Association for Media and History, Professor Nicholas Cull, who delivered a lecture entitled “From Diasporas to Digital: Public Diplomacy for Small Countries ” for officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Diaspora. The meeting was organized by the Diplomatic School of Armenia. Welcoming the speaker, the Director of the Diplomatic School, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan emphasized the importance of the topic, as public diplomacy is an important part of the daily work of public servants. 17.07.2018 • Ambassador of China Tian Erlong

On July 17 th , Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of China to Armenia, H.E. Tian Erlong. Ambassador Erlong delivered a lecture on the stages of development of China’s foreign policy, its characteristic features and priorities, and the “One belt, one road” initiative, as well as spoke about the bilateral relations between Armenia and China and China-funded programmes in Armenia. Ambassador Erlong answered the student’s questions on these and other topics.

17.07.2018 • Ambassador of France Jonathan Lacote

On July 17 th , Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Armenia, H.E. Jonathan Lacote. The Ambassador of France gave a short presentation on the structure of the French foreign affairs and diplomatic service, spoke about the priorities of his country’s foreign policy, the bilateral relations between Armenia and France and answered the students’ questions on France’s engagement in different international and regional issues, the upcoming Francophonie summit in Yerevan and other topics.  

13.07.2018 • The Head of the European Union to Armenia Piotr Switalski

On July 13 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski. Ambassador Switalski talked about the current state of relations between Armenia and EU after the signing of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the possible visa liberalization between EU and Armenia, different EU-funded projects in Armenia, the EU enlargement perspectives, Brexit, relations between EU member states, as well as relations between the EU and different non-member states and other related topics.

12.07.2018 • Ambassador of the USA to Armenia Richard Mills Jr.

On July 12 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of the USA to Armenia, H.E. Mr. Richard Mills Jr.. Ambassador Mills spoke about the main priorities of the US foreign policy in light of the national Security Strategy, and development of the American-Armenian bilateral relations. He then answered a multitude of questions about the US position on various issues of global and regional importance.

26.06.2018 • The Ambassador of the Syrian Arabic Republic Mohammed Haj Ibrahim

On June 26 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of the Syrian Arabic Republic to Armenia, H.E. Mr. Mohammed Haj Ibrahim. Ambassador Ibrahim spoke about the history and current level of the bilateral relations with Armenia, as well as about the developments and situation in Syria and answered the numerous questions of the students.

25.06.2018 • Ambassador of the UAE Jasem al Qasemi

On June 25 th , the Diplomatic School hosted the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, H.E. Mr. Jasem al Qasemi. The Ambassador spoke about the foreign policy priorities of the UAE, the bilateral relations between Armenia and Emirates, as well as about the situation in the Gulf region and the UAE’s position on the existing there problems.

21.06.2018 • Rouben Galichian

On June 21th, the Diplomatic School hosted Rouben Galichian, the author of several well-known books on historic maps of Armenia and the region. An Honorary Doctor of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, and a long-time researcher, Galichian has published several books on these topics, in English, Armenian and Russian, including “Historic Maps of Armenia. The Cartographic Heritage”, “Countries South of the Caucasus in Medieval Maps”, “The Invention of History” and “Clash of Histories in the South Caucasus”. Galichian spoke about map-making principles and how they evolved during history, types and peculiarities of different maps and inclusion of Armenia in maps throughout history.
