On November 8th, celebrations dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic School were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, heads of different government institutions and Members of Parliament were present. During the tour of the Diplomatic School the guests got acquainted with the permanent exhibition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the School followed by the oath ceremony of some of the graduates of the 2017-18 “International Relations and Diplomacy” programme.

After the speeches of the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister, the Director of the Diplomatic School Vahe Gabrielyan presented the history of the establishment and development of the Diplomatic School. Emphasizing the importance of continuous state support, the assistance of experts from the EU the OSCE and international organizations in establishing Armenia’s own institution for education and training of diplomats, the Director noted that the Diplomatic School has gained the reputation of an effective, modern and competitive educational institution within the country and the reputation of a qualified and reliable partner abroad. That is the reason why today lecturers from prestigious universities around the world and internationally recognized speakers come to teach and deliver speeches on various topics at the Diplomatic School. V. Gabrielyan underlined that all this has become a reality thanks to the continuous and consistent support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia. He also thanked his colleagues who worked and work with him for many years.

V. Gabrielyan emphasized that the graduates of the School are its most important result. A great part of over 200 graduates of the “International Relations and Diplomacy” programme have joined the Armenian diplomatic service, some work in other government bodies, non-governmental and international organizations, in the private sector, others run research institutes and more than 250 specialists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state agencies have participated in the School’s mid-career training courses.

During the event several long-serving employees of the Diplomatic School were awarded by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
